Melissa BenderMD
Dr. Melissa Bender is a fellowship-trained Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who specializes in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face and neck. Dr. Bender grew up in Houston and completed her undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania with a major in Biological Basis of Behavior and a double minor in Hispanic Studies and Chemistry, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then returned to her hometown of Houston, Texas for medical school at Baylor College of Medicine where she graduated at the top of her class. She then completed an internship and residency in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. During her training, Dr. Bender performed a wide array of functional and cosmetic procedures and solidified her passion for facial plastic surgery. Following residency, Dr. Bender was selected for a highly competitive fellowship through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the direction of Dr. Edward Buckingham in Austin, Texas. She has now returned to Houston to practice at the Center for ENT.
During her time off, Dr. Bender enjoys spending time with family and friends. She enjoys yoga, hiking, rock climbing, reading, and traveling. She just finished an RV road trip across the western United States with her husband.
