One of the services that I am most excited to offer patients at The Center for ENT is called BroadBand Light (BBLTM). This technology gives us the ability to identify a customized treatment that targets different elements of aging and sun damage in the skin. It is a technological advancement more commonly referred to as intense pulsed light, or IPL. These treatments use photorejuvenation through targeted high intensity light energy that is safely delivered to the skin.
Proven Results
A recent study at Stanford University showed that BBL improves the composition of skin, which is why we see positive changes on the skin’s surface. This cutting-edge technology delivers balance in skin tone and texture, offering a more youthful complexion. It works on a cellular level to rejuvenate the actual gene expression in skin.
What’s Different About BBL?
A wider spectrum of light and multiple wavelengths offers highly targeted and lasting results. The light turns into thermal energy, which stimulates cells to produce new collagen and improve the appearance of vessels, unwanted melanin or pigment and fine lines.
Who Is a Candidate for BBL?
BBL works to restore and maintain skin’s natural beauty, which makes it a great treatment for all ages! I recommend it for patients who are interested in skin maintenance and prevention and are looking for a powerful addition to their current regimen. It is also a great option for patients who have areas of pigment and sun damage that they would like to first treat and then maintain their result.
What to Expect
This treatment is quick and can be performed in 30 minutes. Most patients say that it feels like a light sunburn after treatment. I recommend that patients undergo a series of treatments for best results.
