Fear-mongering is not how we want to convince our patients they need help. At the Center for ENT, we think learning about the benefits and improvements hearing aids can bring to your life is all that is needed to get you to pick up the phone and make that first appointment.

Benefits of Hearing Aids
Below are the benefits most of our patients experience when they finally decide to seek treatment for their hearing loss with the use of hearing aids.
Improved General Health
Patients who treat their hearing loss see a decrease in their feelings of depression, anger and anxiety. They also see an improvement in their balance.
Patients who do not seek treatment are at a higher risk of cognitive decline; they are also three times more likely to suffer physical injuries, such as falls.
Improved Professional Success
Patients with untreated hearing loss often find it hard to concentrate, especially when communicating with others. This can lead to reduced job performance and less monetary compensation.
Patients can also find it hard learning new things, as new studies have come out showing that hearing loss can lead to problems storing new information.
Improved Emotional Well-Being
Patients who treat their hearing loss are able to reenter the world on their own, thus overcoming their reliance on others and regaining their sense of control. This leads to reduced periods of social isolation as well are longer-lasting and healthier relationships.
Patients who treat their hearing loss have also been shown to have higher quality of life and self-esteem than those who do not seek treatment.
A study conducted by the Better Hearing Institute (BHI) shows new evidence about the importance of hearing aids.
A total of 2,000 patients with hearing loss were surveyed, 82 percent indicated they would recommend hearing aids to their friends and 70 percent reported an improved ability to communicate. More than four out of five individuals who use an aid to hear better reported that they are satisfied with their solution.
The BHI study also concluded up to a third of patients saw improvements in their:
- Romance
- Sense of humor
- Mental health
- Emotional health
- Physical health
- Sense of safety
- Self-confidence
- Feelings about self
- Sense of independence
